1. Agenois Encampment Marker
Inscription. The tents of the Regiment Agenois stretched to your right in 1781 with two other French regiments Gatinois and Touraine, beyond. These men, coming from the West Indies, wore linen uniforms, light for the “cold nights” of October in Virginia.

Location. 37° 13.864′ N, 76° 32.593′ W. Marker is in Yorktown, Virginia, in York County. Marker is on Historical Tour Drive, on the left when traveling east. Touch for map. Marker is located on the Yorktown Battlefield in Colonial National Historical Park, on the Allied Encampment Tour. Marker is in this post office area: Yorktown VA 23690, United States of America.
