Inscription. Click to hear the inscription.  Was a manufacturing center. Two creeks powered a grist mill in the 18th century; wire, fulling, and paper mills in the 19th century.
 
Erected by Town of Putnam Valley.
 
Location. 41° 19.982′ N, 73° 52.498′ W. Marker is in Putnam Valley, New York, in Putnam County. Marker is on Oscawana Lake Road (New York State Route 20) 0.1 miles south of Peekskill Hollow Road, on the right when traveling north. Touch for map.
