1. Centerville Marker
Inscription. County seat, 1804, of the original Livingston County. A Presbyterian Church was started, 1797, by the Rev. Terah Templin. County seat moved to Salem, 1809. U.S. Army used earlier buildings as supply depot on the "Trail of Tears," Cherokee relocation, 1834 to '38. By Civil War days little remained of the town. Landmarks today are only the foundations and earth depressions.
 
Erected 1967 by the Kentucky Historical Society, Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 1097.)
