Friedrich von Spee, S.J. (born 1591, died 1635), worked here during difficult times as a teacher at the Jesuit College. A preacher of God's joyful tidings with his collection of spiritual songs, Rivaling the Nightingale, and defender of human dignity with his tract against torture and the persecution of witches, Precautions for Prosecutors.
