Chetumal in Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Yucatan Peninsula (The Southeast)
The Clock Tower
The Clock Tower
When Payo Obispo was declared as the new capital of this Federal Territory in 1915, a memorial was erected in this place in which a lighthouse for navigation and a clock was installed. It had previously belonged to Santa Cruz de Bravo. It was known as the Torre del Relox (Clock Tower) and for more than three decades and was the most emblematic symbol of the city.
One hundred years after that event Chetumal has a new reference point that recalls its glorious past and shows the world the indomitable spirit of its inhabitants: their faith in the future.
