Inscription.  The Children's Pavilion, a key element of Fredrick Law Olmstead's design plan for Highland Park, stood on this site for 73 ears. A gift of George Ellwanger and Patrick Barry, the pavilion was dedicated September 1890 to the children of Rochester. Due to deterioration, the wooden pavilion was demolished in 1963 with the intention of having it rebuilt to its original form and scale.

"The Pavilion is the crowning glory of the park. With all the natural beauties, Highland Park would not be complete without this Memorial Pavilion." - Mrs. C.M. Curtis, Pavilion Dedication, September 29, 1890.

The Highland Park Conservancy is leading efforts to raise the necessary funding to bring the Children's Pavilion back to Highland Park
