Descripcion
Pieza corta de artillería naval que tuvo su apogeo a finales del siglo XVIII, construida en bronce, cañón disenado por el General Robert Melville y fundido en Carrón (Escocia). Fue empleado por fuerzas del ejército y navales. Se caracterizaba por tener un cañon más corto, pero contaba con un calibre mayor en sus proyectiles los cuales eran preferentemente balas huecas y de metralla.

Carronade
Description:
A short piece of naval artillery that had its peak use at the end of the 18th century. Built in bronze, it was a cannon designed by General Robert Melville and cast by Carron Ironworks, Scotland. It was employed by army and naval forces. It was characterized by being a shorter cannon, but it had a large caliber in its projectiles which were preferably hollow cannonballs and shrapnel.
