1. The Larch Path Marker
Inscription. Nathaniel Hawthorne loved and walked these grounds as Bronson Alcott had done before him. Trees and paths sheltered their spirits as the house did friends and family.
 
Location. 42° 27.543′ N, 71° 20.005′ W. Marker is in Concord, Massachusetts, in Middlesex County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of Lexington Road and Hawthorne Lane, on the right when traveling west. Touch for map. Marker is in Minute Man National Historical Park, near the Wayside. Marker is in this post office area: Concord MA 01742, United States of America.

2. The Wayside
Nathaniel Hawthorne lived in this house, located near the marker. In addition to him, the Wayside was also the home to authors Louisa May Alcott and Harriett Lothrop (Margaret Sidney). Hawthorne added the vaulted tower study and other alterations to the house when he lived here.
