1. Nimitz Marker
Inscription. When Newport News Shipbuilding launched USS Nimitz in 1972, it was the world’s largest fighting vessel. In 1995 the Shipyard delivered USS John C. Stennis, the seventh in the class and Newport News Shipbuilder’s 27th aircraft carrier.
