1. Plaza-Courtyard Marker
Inscription. There were several attempts to capture St. Augustine. Twice (1683 and 1702) the townspeople fled to these walls for protection.
 
Location. 29° 53.865′ N, 81° 18.69′ W. Marker is in St. Augustine, Florida, in Saint Johns County. Marker can be reached from South Castillo Drive (State Road A1A), on the right when traveling north.
