1. Belvedere Tower Marker
Inscription. Erected in 1869 as a lookout. It now houses the New York Meteorological Observatory which was founded in 1868 by Dr. Daniel Draper who was its director until his retirement in 1912. At which time the observatory came under the direction of the United States Weather Bureau.
 
Location. 40° 46.762′ N, 73° 58.139′ W. Marker is in New York, New York, in New York County. Marker can be reached from 79th Street Transverse Rd. Touch for map.
