Inscription. Colonial home of Daniel Davenport, farmer, surveyor, and first Senator from Washingtyon County. He served in the Revolutionary War. Homestead 3 miles ->
 
Erected 1999 by Washington County Bicentennial Commission.
 
Location. 35° 52.205′ N, 76° 26.988′ W. Marker is in Creswell, North Carolina, in Washington County.
