Longstreet's Corps (McLaw's and Hood's Divisions) was not engaged, having been dispatched to Knoxville Nov. 4th. Bushrod Johnson's Division was on its way to Knoxville. Its rear Brigade (Reynolds) was recalled in time for the third day's battle, but made no report of its casualties.

Location. 35° 0.633′ N, 85° 20.617′ W. Marker is in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of Point Park Road and East Brow Road. Touch for map. This historical marker is located at Point Park, on the northern crest of Lookout Mountain, in a portion of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. It is about 300 feet north of the walk through entrance to Point Park and situated just behind a Confederate battery that was positioned on the crest.
