To the memory of
The Wetumpka Light Guard
And Other Confederate Soldiers

from this vicinity who shouldered arms and
marched to the front in 1861 in defense of
their rights, their homes and their Southland.

 
Erected 1931 by John D. Gordon Chapter, U.D.C. and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
