1. Toole Avenue Marker
Inscription. Named during Arizona’s Territorial period after Tucson’s mayor, Dr. James Toole (b.1824-d.1884). Before serving in politics, he acted as Adjutant General for the Arizona Territory. He was also a surgeon and later a banker. Upon collapse of his bank, Toole took his own life.
 
Erected 2013 by City of Tucson Historic Preservation Office.
