1. Site of Toll Gate Marker
Inscription. On this site was located one of the early toll booths for the Buffalo - Batavia Plank Road laid out by Joseph Ellicott, and the plank road towards Lancaster and Alden. The toll was later moved west about 400 feet. It was abandoned in the early 1900's.
 
Erected 1975 by Town of Cheektowaga.
 
Location. 42° 54.221′ N, 78° 45.176′ W. Marker is in Cheektowaga, New York, in Erie County. Marker is on Broadway (New York State Route 130) east of Ellicott Road, on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. Marker is roadside at the Cheektowaga Town Hall complex. Marker is at or near this postal address: 3301 Broadway, Buffalo NY 14227, United States of America.
