1. Mills Darden Marker
Inscription. Born in North Carolina in 1799, Darden settled in Henderson County about 1830. He was an innkeeper and farmer, and physically one of the heaviest men ever to live in the world. At the time of his death, Darden weighed in excess of 1,000 pounds. He and his first wife are buried 1.7 miles north.
 
Erected by Tennessee Historical Commission. (Marker Number 4D 23.)
 
Location. 35° 36.075′ N, 88° 29.111′ W. Marker is near Lexington, Tennessee, in Henderson County. Marker is at the intersection of Life Road (Tennessee Route 200) and Mills Darden Cemetery Road, on the right when traveling west on Life Road. Touch for map. The community of Life is South West of Lexington, Tennessee. Marker is in this post office area: Lexington TN 38351, United States of America.
