1. The Culvert Road Marker
North side. There is an identical twin sign on the south side.
Inscription. Only road under the Erie Canal in Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Culvert built in 1823.
 
Marker series. This marker is included in the Erie Canal marker series.
 
Location. 43° 14.152′ N, 78° 20.433′ W. Marker is in Ridgeway, New York, in Orleans County. Marker is on Culvert Road (County Route 35) mile south of Portage Road, on the right when traveling south. Touch for map. Identical markers are fixed to the stone structure to the right of the portal for the roadway, southbound and northbound. Marker is in this post office area: Medina NY 14103, United States of America.
