1. Johnston Birthplace Marker
Inscription. Near here on February 3, 1803, General Albert Sidney Johnston, Confederate leader, was born. He resigned from the U.S. Army in 1861 to join the South. Killed at Shiloh, April 6, 1862.
 
Erected by Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 91.)
 
Location. 38° 36.937′ N, 83° 48.515′ W. Marker is in Maysville, Kentucky, in Mason County. Marker is at the intersection of Old Main Street (Kentucky Route 2515) and South Court Street, on the right when traveling north on Old Main Street. Touch for map.
