1. Civil War Cannon Marker
Inscription. Found in Lake Pontchartrain in St. John the Baptist Parish, one-half mile from Ruddock in 1977. Used as a one-gun battery to guard the railroad along the western side of the lake. It never came under attack.
 
Location. 30° 4.362′ N, 90° 29.989′ W. Marker is in Laplace, Louisiana, in Saint John the Baptist Parish. Marker can be reached from West Airline Highway (U.S. 61) 0.1 miles east of Percy Hebert Road, on the right when traveling south. Touch for map. Located on the grounds of the St. John East Bank governmental office. Marker is at or near this postal address: 1801 W Airline Hwy, La Place LA 70068, United States of America.
