1. Bowling Green Fault Marker
Inscription. The Bowling Green Fault, a geological feature unique to the Great Lakes region, passes through Farnsworth Metropark. The 100-mile-long fault, which runs from south of Findlay into southern Michigan, is exposed at the Maumee River in the bedrock and in the river rapids when the water is low. A fault, sometimes associated with earthquakes, is a fracture in a rock formation where movement has occurred.

Location. 41° 29.276′ N, 83° 43.878′ W. Marker is in Waterville, Ohio, in Lucas County. Marker is at the intersection of Anthony Wayne Trail (Ohio Route 53) and South River Road, on the right when traveling north on Anthony Wayne Trail. Touch for map. This marker is located along the edge of the towpath trail, in Farnsworth Metropark, between the Ohio Electric Railroad Bridge marker and the Fort Deposit marker. Marker is in this post office area: Waterville OH 43566, United States of America.
