English translation:
Here were one of the entrance gates to the jail cells of El Hormiguero (The Anthill) where General Augusto C. Sandino passed before being assassinated the night of February 21, 1934

Near the marker in what was once the basement and jail cells of the Presidential House is a permanent exhibit dedicated to Augusto Sandino and to the prisoners of the April 4, 1954 attempted revolution.
