1. The John Marshall House Marker
Inscription. Built in 1790, this was the home of John Marshall the "Great Chief Justice" of the United States Supreme Court and Richmond's leading citizen, until his death in 1835. The house was saved from demolition in 1911 by Preservation Virginia.
