1. Nashville Academy of Medicine Marker
Inscription. The Nashville Medical Society, the first medical association in Tennessee, was founded March 5, 1821, by seven physicians in the log courthouse on the Public Square. The first president was Dr. Felix Robertson (1781-1865), son of James and Charlotte Robertson and two-time Nashville mayor. On September 4, 1906, the organization was chartered by the State of Tennessee as the Nashville Academy of Medicine and Davidson County Medical Society.
 
Erected 1975 by The Historical Commission of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County. (Marker Number 61.)
