Plaques awarded to pubs in Ireland and the United States that are considered to be "Authentic" Irish pubs based on James Joyce's characterizations found in his book Ulysses. There is some controversy as to whether certain pubs have been rightly "awarded" the recognition or simply purchased the plaques and proudly displayed them as "authentically" awarded.
