By 1848, hamlet included boat repair, warehouses & homes. Goods & passengers transported daily on Genesee Valley Canal to Rochester ca. 1840-1878.Map (db m212424) HM
2 New York, Livingston County, Leicester — 25 — Moscow Landing
Canal port ca. 1846-1878. Stored & shipped grains, coal, apples, water lime & salt on Genesee Valley Canal to Rochester and Erie Canal.Map (db m212426) HM
3 New York, Onondaga County, Jordan — 7 — Locktender’s House
Locktender’s house served Erie Canal Lock 51 located west of Jordan. Lock active ca. 1858-1917. This rare Erie Canal bldg. moved here 1988 and restored.Map (db m153650) HM
4 New York, Schenectady County, Schenectady — 10 — Canal Aqueduct
Built 1840-1841 to replace original 1825 structure. Carried boats on Erie Canal across Plotterkill. Rebuilt after July 1891 storm.Map (db m162654) HM
5 New York, Wayne County, Clyde — 15 — Iron Lift Bridge
