1. Union Methodist Church Marker
Inscription. Established 1858, ¼ mile east of here. Camp meetings were held in summers. Congregation moved to site near Peniel 1894. The "arbor" and church building were left at original site. These buildings convenient for annual encampment of county Confederate veterans. The church moved about 1920 to its present location on U.S. Highway 43. The original buildings were sold in the early twenties and proceeds used for new fence around cemetery.
 
Erected 1980 by Clarke County Historical Society.
