Esta calle que pasa frente al Convento Franciscano, en el aspecto religioso, es la línea divisoria del Pueblo de Arriba “Otomíes” y Pueblo de abajo “Huachichiles”, quedando conformes los Gobernadores de las Naciones, ante el padre guardián Fray Pedro Gutiérrez y el protector de los indios Juan Domínguez.
Santa María del Río a 4 de mayo de 1610.

English translation:
This street that passes in front of the Franciscan Convent in religious terms is the dividing line between the Upper Town of the Otomíes and the Lower Town of the Huachichiles, according to the leaders of both groups in an agreement before the Priest-Guardian Friar Pedro Gutiérrez and the Protector of the Indians Juan Domínguez.
