1. Chimborazo Hospital UDC Marker
Inscription. In this park Dr. James B. McCaw developed for the Confederate States of America a military hospital which was then the largest in human history. It received 17,000 wounded, served more than 76,000 patients, and had a mortality of less than 10%. Dr. McCaw was its commandant and medical director, Mrs. John Minge its chief matron.
