Inscription. On a wall in this building,
"The Montgomery Theater"
Dan Emmett
first inscribed the score of Dixie
for his minstrel orchestra.
H.F. Arnold
arranged it for band music and used it at
the inauguration of
Jefferson Davis
President of the Confederacy.
