Original gristmill and dam established 1872
Destroyed by fire and rebuilt as roller mill 1889
Rebuilt in present form 1898 and shut down 1955
Restored by Smoky Valley Historical Society for McPherson County Old Mill Museum 1974-1981
 
Erected 1981 by Smoky Valley Historical Society.

Regarding Smoky Valley Roller Mills. The mill has been restored to operating condition and grinds grain annually during Millfest, the first weekend in May. A real agricultural history treasure!
