1. L. Q. C. Lamar House Marker
Inscription. Home of Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar from 1868 to 1888. Lamar was an educator at the University of Mississippi; a colonel, 19th Miss. Inf., CSA; a U.S. congressman; senator; Secretary of the Interior; and an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. This property was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 15, 1975.
 
Erected 1989 by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. Placed by the Oxford Rotary, 1989.
