1. Fort Monroe Arsenal Marker
Inscription. Building 27 was constructed about 1860. During the Civil War, and for a number of years after, it was occupied by the machine shop of the Fort Monroe Arsenal. This arsenal specialized in the manufacture of seacoast gun carriages.
 
Erected 1973.
