The exhibit before you is a handmade, traditional birchbark wigwam originally built by Penobscot artist Barry Dana and his family in August 2011.

Like all homes, it requires yearly maintenance. The harsh winters damaged some of the birchbark panels. In July 2015 it was rebuilt by Passamaquoddy artist David Moses Bridges.

Please treat the exhibit with care.
Do not peel the bark, lean on it, climb on it, or add sticks or debris to the interior.
