The fighting continued with severity till about 11 o'clock when the Brigade was obliged to retire, its left flank in the withdrawal coming under fire of the left battalions of King's Brigade of Baird's Division, then just relieving Croxton's Brigade of Brannan's Division.
It halted in the vicinity of Jay's Mill until near sundown and was not further engaged.

In locating this tablet I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets.
