In the evening of the 18th the Brigade marched from Rossville to the support of Colonel Daniel McCook's Brigade, which had taken position on the right of the road facing south in front of this ground. It arrived during the night and formed in this position. On the morning of the 19th after some skirmishing with Forrest's Cavalry, the Brigade was ordered to return to Rossville.
