1. Manatee Island Marker

Inscription. Manatee Island, in the Caloosahatchee River, is hereby donated to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to inspire a renewed interest in land dedicated to the formation of the Caloosahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, established July 1, 1920, by President Woodrow Wilson.

It is hoped this partnership will inspire other private commitment in maintaining the natural environment of this area.
