Location. 34° 55.384′ N, 85° 15.875′ W. Marker is near Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Walker County. It is on Glenn-Kelly Road north of Dyer Road, on the left when traveling north. This marker located just off of the roadway, about 20 feet to the west, at the southeast edge of a wooded area, and is partially hidden by a mature tree. Touch for map. More about this marker. According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the monument is, “a 1'6" x 1'6" x 3' high granite obelisk with a raised letter inscription. Marks regiment's position on September 20, 1863, at 12:30 p.m.”
