4. Oregon Trail Obelisk
Located in National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center approx 1 mile NE. Text reads "The persistent interest in trail preservation and marking surfaced again in 1943, the centennial year of the trail. The Kiwanis Club of Baker erected a stone obelisk with a handsome, inset bronze medallion near the trail ruts at the base of Flagstaff Hill. The design in the medallion by James E. and Laura G. Fraser was identical to that on the 50cent memorial coin of the 1920s."
