Additional commentary.
1. J. Encarnación Olguín and Juana Lucio
Encarnación Olguín was a coronel in the Mexican Revolutionary Army, organizing material and troops in the area of Ciudad Porfirio Díaz (now Mineral de Pozos). His wife Juana Lucio, better known by her nickname of "Juana Gallo", worked by his side in this effort. They were betrayed one day and ambushed by government forces, killing Encarnación. Juana Gallo continued to fight, even hitting a soldier in the face with a rifle butt when out of bullets. When finally captured she famously declared "Long live the Virgin, long live President Madero!" (Viva la Virgen! Viva Madero!). She was later forced to watch the assassination of her father. Her father and husband were left to hang in the public square as a warning to others, however the Revolution continued for roughly another six years.
