Granite slab with two statues.
The shaft is mostly unadorned, except for a Caduceus (twin entwined snakes and a winged staff) on the north side, and a biplane on the top and crossed cannons on the bottom of the south side.
On the eastern side of the monument is a statue of a sailor in uniform. On the western side is a soldier in full uniform holding a Springfield rifle
in front of him.
The monument was restored in 2005 by the Rotary Club. A plaque on the ground on the North side indicates "Restored by the Rotary Club of Vicksburg in commemoration of the centennial observation of Rotary International 2005."
