1. Merrehope Marker

Inscription. Merrehope, built by an early settler's daughter, was occupied by Confederate Generals Joseph E. Johnston (1863) and Leonidas Polk (1863-64), then by Union officers. It is one of six homes to survive the Battle of Meridian.

Erected 2014 by the Meridian/Lauderdale County Tourism Bureau. (Marker Number 5.)

2. Merrehope

The house is used for club meetings and is rented to the public for weddings, receptions and parties. It is a tourist attraction and is open daily for tours.
