Inscription. Lieut. Augustus Beach.
The battery served four 6-pounder guns and two 12-pounder howitzers on the investment line from the morning of May 21 to May 24, when it went with the 1st Brigade, 9th Division, 13th Corps, to Big Black River Bridge and was on duty in and near that position to the end of the siege, July 4, 1863, reported casualties in battery during the campaign and siege, wounded 3.
