1. Yates Market & Hardware Marker

Inscription. In 1905 SJ Yates opened his grocery store at 8247, formerly a home from the mid 1800’s. He used a model T truck to make free home deliveries. In 1925 he move to his newly-constructed building at 8249. In 1938 his grandson, Bladen, opened a hardware store in the original building. The Yates family maintained these businesses for 4 generations.
