1. Young Farm Marker

Inscription. In 1925 U. S. Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover, later U. S. President, inspected Fred Young's dairy farm following recognition of one of its Jerseys, Sensation's Mikado's Millie, as a world champion butter-fat producer. The house here, built c. 1877 according to family tradition, was remodeled 1968 by Edward L. Young, S. C. House member 1958~60, U. S. Congressman 1972~74.
