Parkville Park Reservation
This plot of land is Parkvilles namesake and was given to the people of Parkville by Simon J. Martenet with the stipulation that it always remain a park. Martenet, a notable surveyor and civil engineer, is best known for his comprehensive mapping of the State of Maryland. He described this area as: “One of the healthiest and pleasantest locations near Baltimore.”
In 1998 this park was placed on the Baltimore County final landmarks list as an historic site.
