1. Lee County Marker
The site of Marianna was acquired through a deed from Mary Ann Harland and the heirs of her first husband, Daniel Martin. The town was named in her memory. She was born in Kentucky May 6, 1802: died October 25, 1857. The first court house in Lee County was erected in Marianna soon after the location of the permanent seat of justice there in 1873. The county was named for the great Confederate commander, General Robert E. Lee.Erected 1936 by Arkansas Centennial Commission and Arkansas History Commission. (Marker Number H-15.)

2. Lee County Marker across from the Lee County Courthouse.
The courthouse was built in 1890, and expanded in 1936. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The courthouse was built in the Colonial Revival and Art Deco styles.
