Padre de la Patria y Fundador de la República. Poeta y escritor. Creador de la sociedad secreta “La Trinitaria” y la dramática “La Filantrópica”, con el propósito de realizar los preparativos para lograr la independencia de la nación dominicana.
Autor del primer proyecto de Constitución de la República. El ejemplo de su conducta y de su pensamiento es fuente de inspiración de los dominicanos de buena voluntad que viven la vida de manera responsable y obran con sentido de la historia.

Father of the Nation and Founder of the Republic. Poet and writer. Creator of the secret society "La Trinitaria" (The Trinitarian) and the dramatic society "La Filantrópica" (The Philanthropic), with the purpose of making the preparations to achieve the independence of the Dominican nation.
Author of the first draft of the Constitution of the Republic. The example of his behavior and thought is a source of inspiration for Dominicans of good will who live life in a responsible way and act with a sense of history.
