Propeller from the 14,000 ton Royal Fleet Auxiliary Reliant. Originally built as the Somersby, a grain carrier, she was purchased by the Admiralty in 1957 and converted to become the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s first Air Victualling and Stores Issuing ship to support the Navy’s aircraft carriers. Powered by a 6-cylinder Doxford diesel engine, she had a single propeller and had a top speed of 17 knots.
