Enlisted at Dunkirk, NY
September 26, 1861 at age 22
Killed July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg, PA,
and was the first Union Soldier to
succumb in that great battle.
His body rests amongst his fallen
comrades at Gettysburg
National Cemetery.
